Psychotherapy I // Self-portrait

The first painting of a serie related to my psychotherapy, initiated about a year ago.
This painting in particular deals with the different defense mechanisms : masochism, narcissic investment of your own body, religiosity, mixing death and sex. And how those mechanisms suffocate yourself, exhausting you, slowly but surely.
There are also life drives : creativity (the color stains which symbolize my love of painting and colour), sensitivity (the butterflies).
the self-sucking relates to the oral state and physical incorporation of my own virility to counter the castration anxiety.
